Sequences/Impacts, 2018, 2'38'', colored, with sound. Ιt is a essay-type application of montage in a sort of “critical historiography” which implies that the fragments of history can be rescued by detaching them from their original context and attaching them to a series of appositions, in order to form that picture which does not simply represent an idea or captures a reality, but acts on reality and tries to construct an idea.

Maria Tsiroukidou

Maria Tsiroukidou was born in Kozani, Greece. She studied painting at the Department of Fine & Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed the Postgraduate Program “Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age” at the Department of Αudio and Visual Arts of the Ionian University. Currently she lives and works in Thessaloniki, Greece, while she regularly exhibits her work in Greece and abroad.
