Homo Novus

Homo Novus
Duration: 05:08min

Homo Novus is a commentary on the agony and psychological profile of a multitask and hyper-attention modern subject characterized by a lightning shift of focus on various tasks and sources of information. Homo Novus is sarcastically represented by a readymade cartoon with an expression of despair, horror and stupidity while ironically lined-insulated with 18K gold leaves. Homo Novus, in a constantly nervous, confused and pointless mobility, breaks down and soars/ floats in an indefinite black. Overlapping information levels of sounds and speech are instilled into the inner world and form a distorted, divisive landscape that increasingly repels its ability for deep attention and reflection while the image / self is perpetually shifted nervously or hypnotically and is separated, magnified or shrunk, trapped and suffocated. It is essentially just a marginal subject, with multiple distorted selves which want to reflect the pathological landscape created by today's society of performance, of (the concept / perception)"I can" and narcissism. A landscape that traps modern man in neuronal diseases and mental infarctions.
