You're in there. Better safer than that, you will never know again. You start like a fern ... you live for nine months like a fish. You are a fish. Then comes the first crying; the first breath. After that you continue breathing, but you cry less. Do you breathe less? Think for a while the sea. It tastes like tears. There are thousands of first breaths gathered. The hands in the water wrinkle. As if to rush to grow old. The aged bodies in the water rejuvenate. As if time is over. Or like returning to the beginning. When they felt like fish in the water. There is no memory. There is no end.
Alkistis Georgiou was born in Thessaloniki in 1988. In 2006 she decided to study cinema at the School of Fine Arts of AUTH. In 2015 she held her first photography exhibition in France. She is currently a graduate student at the Department of Sound and Visual Arts of the Ionian University, in the postgraduate program "Audiovisual Arts in the Digital Age - Creation and Communication in the Audiovisual Media" and completed her dissertation, which is a short video art documentary about women and their relationship with water.
